The winning trophy

In April 2024 Cumann Warszawa GAA travelled to Prague for the Central and Eastern Europe regional football tournament. With almost 50 players making the journey to Prague all made up of students of the Veterinary Faculty of SGGW. We fielded two ladies’ teams  and one full men’s team and a second which joined forces with Milan Gaels GAA. On the day it was our ladies that came home triumphant. Led by Zara Cassidy the Ladies A team fought all day to get to the final where they came up against Budapest, another strong team made up of veterinary students. After a very good game of football the ladies A team took home the winning trophy. The Ladies B team also performed brilliantly on the day, showing great skill and teamwork throughout their games. 

Our men’s team made it out of the group stages where they then came up against Berlin in the semi-finals and were unfortunately defeated. 

The weekend was a great start to our year on the pitch and we are currently looking to build upon our success as we focus on our next competitions.
